I’ve finally had a chance to sit down and really listen to the lyrics of Beyonce’s new song, Formation and I have to say…I don’t get it.
How is this song controversial? Or maybe it’s the video. But did anyone notice that the lyrics and the video don’t match up? Did anyone notice that the lyrics and the Super Bowl performance don’t match up?
What did Beyonce do that was so controversial during her performance at the Super Bowl? She had on a black outfit and her dancers were dressed in a way that was reminiscent of the women of the Black Panthers.
But does anyone see how much work had to be done to match up all this messaging and statements and whatnot in order to come up with the outrageousness that is supposed to be a statement Beyonce made?
Maybe I’m just lazy, but I feel like, if I have to do that much work to figure it out, if people have to explain everything I see in order for me to get the message, is it really that much of a message?
Aren’t messages, by definition, really clear?
All the supposed messages that Beyonce gave us were about as clear as mud!
The only thing that was really clear to me is that she is still on top of her game. She practiced a lot. And so did her dancers and she did what she does…she entertained us.
And, oh yeah, she announced her next tour.
And I don’t have a problem with it…not one little bit of it. Go ‘head Bey!
